About the role
FireFly GX is recruiting a C++ Computer Vision Engineer for a Cambridge business developing real-time imaging and tracking systems. The team works close to the hardware, with a strong emphasis on algorithm performance — latency and throughput are first-class concerns here, not an afterthought.
What you'll do
- Develop real-time computer vision algorithms in modern C++
- Optimise processing pipelines for latency and throughput
- Work with hardware teams to integrate algorithms onto target platforms
- Evaluate algorithm performance against captured and synthetic datasets
- Contribute to architecture decisions and code reviews
Key skills
- Strong modern C++ (C++14 onwards)
- Computer vision fundamentals — detection, tracking, calibration
- OpenCV or equivalent vision libraries
- Performance optimisation and profiling
- Linux development environment
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Maths or Physics
