About the role
FireFly GX is recruiting an Embedded Software Engineer for a contract assignment with an automotive engineering business in Coventry. The team builds safety-related embedded control software. Hybrid working, two to three days on site, initial six-month term with extension likely.
What you'll do
- Develop embedded control software in C on an RTOS platform
- Implement and test communication stacks over CAN and LIN
- Write unit and integration tests to project quality standards
- Debug on target hardware using debuggers and bus analysers
- Contribute to design reviews and technical documentation
Key skills
- Embedded C on ARM Cortex-M or similar architectures
- RTOS experience — FreeRTOS, AUTOSAR OS or equivalent
- CAN, LIN or other automotive communication protocols
- On-target debugging with GDB, JTAG or SWD, and logic analysers
- Ability to read schematics and datasheets
- Familiarity with automotive development processes
